Children and Adolescent Psychotherapy
A large portion of my practice involves the treatment of children, pre-teens and teens. What this age group shares in common are issues surrounding academic performance, friendships, family relationships and the development of a coherent sense of self or identity. I provide a safe, confirming environment where kids and teens can express themselves without feeling judged or interrogated. The ultimate goal is to help this age group identify and acknowledge their personal strengths and how to use them to achieve their goals and understand and work through various life challenges.
Adult Psychotherapy
Many of the adults that I see struggle with anxiety, depression, mid-life transitions, dysfunctional relationships within and outside of the family, and finding a sense of meaning in their life. I help guide these patients by gently facilitating an exploration of relationship patterns that are often embedded in their family of origin. These dysfunctional patterns can create “static” and ongoing tension within their current relationships, while dampening a sense of joy and personal and interpersonal gratification.
