Welcome to the website of Dr. Joel Adler and Assessment Associates. My work as a psychologist focuses on knowing and treating the whole person, regardless of age, gender, race, religion or personal lifestyle preferences. It is often difficult to decide whether or not to seek out therapy and/or psychological assessment to help with difficult life transitions, personal or relationship challenges, school or work related stress, and the like. My job is to help you discover and understand the origin of your “roadblocks” and find ways to resolve them; with the ultimate goal of finding meaning and happiness in life.

When facilitating psychological testing, our goal (Comprehensive Psychological Testing is typically a team effort, involving myself and my colleague, Christine Yeannakis, M.A.) is to find the root of particular challenges, such as learning delays, struggles with focus and attention, mood fluctuations, sensory processing delays, and other neurological and psychological concerns, which impact the quality of one’s life. Once these underlying factors are identified, we are able to generate customized recommendations, such as various types of treatment (for instance, individual or group therapy, educational interventions, psychiatric consultation, etc.) that will improve the quality of a child, adolescents or adults life.

Therapy and testing are meaningful and very personal interventions that ultimately help our patients understand their strengths and apply them to their own personal and interpersonal life journeys.
